As a young girl, I always enjoyed life and being around people, experiencing new things. I started working at the age of eleven, caring for children, as I have always had a fondness for babies and young children. I began babysitting at twelve and have continued caring for others since. My standard response when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up was, 'Stay at Home Mom.'
During my freshman year in high school, my brother, who was a junior, was involved in a severe automobile accident (with no alcohol involved), which resulted in his left arm being severed above the elbow. He also suffered a traumatic brain injury, requiring extra attention and assistance both mentally and physically while he recovered. Now that he is in his 50s, I've been providing home assistance with daily living chores that his brain injury prevents him from managing. For the past five years, my aging father has needed care, and I have stepped in to help my brother in ways my dad can no longer manage.
I worked for ten years as a travel director, coordinating group travel for corporations hosting meetings and incentive trips worldwide. This experience was a blessing, allowing me to travel while utilizing my exceptional customer service skills and learning the ins and outs of being self-employed. When I married the love of my life and started our family 24 years ago, it wasn't financially feasible for me to be a stay-at-home mom. My husband has health issues, preventing him from working outside the home, but thankfully, he was healthy enough to be a stay-at-home dad! I started a job that allowed me to remain local, caring for my husband and children while providing a reliable income and health insurance.
I worked as a receptionist and eventually became the Assistant Office Manager of a dental practice, where I spent nine years with a wonderful team. I gained invaluable knowledge and experience before being offered a position as a Practice Manager at a medical specialist office. After 18 years in that role, I was instrumental in opening a second location for the practice while maintaining longevity with the exceptional team I led.
Throughout all of this, I witnessed my parents' care for my grandparents. I was a frequent visitor to their homes growing up, which were among the best places to be. Over time, my visits shifted from socializing to providing assistance, which my grandparents appreciated. Three of my four grandparents had Dementia and Alzheimer's, and I experienced their different signs and progression rates. I learned so much about how to interact with them, ensuring our time together was meaningful.
My mother became a hospice chaplain, caring for people with her whole heart until their last breath, impacting both the seniors and their overwhelmed families. Caring for others was a family value, and I remember accompanying my mom in my late teens to visit a young woman in a nursing home transitioning due to Type 1 Diabetes. She had no family and had burned bridges with friends, but my mom befriended her, providing companionship and care until her passing. I felt the profound impact of my mother's kindness.
Throughout my life and various careers, I've taken on side care jobs based on individual needs. I assisted one employer with her stubborn, demanding mother, who had no family support. I developed a fondness for her and often visited her on my own. I recognized the need for someone like me to provide respite care, check in on seniors while their families were away, and assist with errands or appointments.
When my neighbor needed help caring for her 90ish grandmother, I fell in love with her. I enjoyed taking her to dinner and tucking her into bed while watching crime shows together. Losing her left a hole in my heart, but I cherish the memories we made together.
From babies to sweet seniors, I have been caring for others my entire life while balancing my career choices. Now, I have the opportunity to make senior care my primary focus. After reviewing the services I currently offer, while I'm expanding my business to include more options, please feel free to reach out with any questions or to arrange a time for us to connect. I would love to see if my heart-centric help can benefit your sweet senior or provide your family with some much-needed respite.

Since the inception of Heart Centric Helping Hands, one of my main priorities and a significant need I am passionate about continues to be companionship. One of the more ambitious goals I have is to reform nationwide senior care, including nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, home assistance, and respite care services. During my 19-40s, I would often spend my Fridays visiting 'Grams'. My favorite Fridays involved sharing lunch and playing novice piano duets together (sometimes followed by a quick nap on the sofas). I’m sure those moments were her favorites too! There is still much work to be done, and we are committed to excellence in providing senior assistance, fostering connections, and encouraging growth. I always have time for lunch and a duet or a trip to the local ice cream shop! ☺️ 🍦🍦
